Are there any other translation groups like Amaterasu and Yandere that make use of polls to decide their next translation? After all, most officially translated games are less than adequate and go for the sex factor.

Nancy: Dale! Get dressed we're going to go steal a news van!
Dale: It's the perfect crime! How will they report it?

1) still not sure if Yandere is actually deciding based on their "survey" (I prefer not to call it a poll), or if it's just testing the water

2) if there are any, I am completely unaware of them. I've been told by people who've been in this fandom far longer than I that this has never been done before.
My ratings and reviews of all the VNs I've ever read:

Enjoy disagreeing with me.

Nope. The democratization of vn translation (lol) is just the recent fad. It's not effective unless you have a lot of resources and commitment to spare. The most effective method is always for the lead or lead translator to pick the title him/herself. With the basis on personal likability to rational measurement such as script length, translation difficulty, etc.

Well, for obvious reasons, I wouldn't say "always."
